Snow Fort

The snow fell for over a week here in the Seattle convergence zone. In the end, we had upwards of two feet accumulated. The day after Christmas, when it was raining all over the region and snowing only in the 3-mile radius of our home, I called in reinforcements. My friend Hans and his wife, Sarah brought their two girls and our friend Ali brought her two boys and we set to work on an igloo.
Kimberly and three-year-old Gabriel packed snow into boxes, Hans popped them free and stacked them up and Sarah worked with lots of little helpers to pack the inside smooth.
Alton, the ultimate student in the watch and learn school, was intently taking it all in. I am positive he is filing this away for future use.

We had to cut a door before the topping-off to try and curb the scaling of the walls by the children who were clamoring to get inside.

In the end, It was quite the little hide-a-way. Over 6 people were snuggled inside at one time all trying to use the door at once.
