Report Cards

Alton received two great report cards, one from Ms. Beth at Kindermusik and the other from his new Montessori teacher, Tara.

Ms. Beth wrote:
Alton has grown so much this year! He is such a delightful boy and always has a smile on his face when he comes into class. I love when he sings the songs now and when he really likes an activity he jumps right in w/both feet! He has a great sense of rhythm and really loves music! Thank you for sharing him with me and for making music a part of his life. I look forward to continuing our Musical Adventure!

His Montessori report card is more formal and indicates what skill level he displays in various areas, measuring with words such as "seldom, usually, developing, etc". In addition to the checklist, Tara writes:

Alton is a happy child who enjoys the company of adults and children alike. He has a keen sense of humor and enjoys "putting on a show". We have been working on using a quiet voice indoors. He loves to be outside and any activity providing large motor practice is a good fit for him. He has been developing the ability to control his impulses and is learning to use words and come to a teacher for help. I look forward to working with Alton next year and watching him continue to grow. (Tara will be Alton's teacher for the next 3 years)

We had to laugh at the checklist for Specific Skills which includes: walks on line, balances on one foot, jumps with feet together, runs, hops and skips. Skipping was the only skill unchecked and we decided that skateboarding probably trumps skipping!

We are very proud of our little man and his development at school!
