Music Class

Alton attended his second kindermusik class this afternoon with Cheri. Jessica, his Nanny, took him last Monday and I am getting some pretty consistent reports. One, he loves it. The music, dancing and activities are stimulating and fun for him. Two, he is big on impressing the teacher. Last week she was wowed when he signed, "Music" as she was introducing the sign to the group. This week he said, "Whoo Whoo" when she showed the class a picture of an owl during their bird song and she was quite surprised. Three, he is an independent, curious boy who isn't sure about this structured activity thing. Today he was regularly distracted by an incline in the back of the class he wanted to practice stepping off, frequently determined to get to the stereo system to turn up the volume, and enamored with the prospect of dismantling the xylophone he was supposed to be banging to the music. And Finally, the most consistent, clear, and first report I received both weeks was that, "quiet-lay-on-the-mat-massage-time was just not going to happen." He clearly communicated to both Jessica and Cheri that he would not be laying down and they needed to stop rubbing his arms and tummy, now! We will see what they work out over the next 12-weeks during that activity-it will clearly be entertaining if nothing less!
