"I Nee Skis!"

In Chelan we visited Echo Valley Ski Area for some snow fun. We initially went to go tubing, figuring this would be a reasonable activity for a two year old. The sledding runs were fairly steep and fast, but after a few half runs on the "baby run" Alton was game for the main runs and squealed with delight.

However, his attention was quickly caught by the rope tow for a small ski hill adjacent to the tubing area.

Alton: "What doing Mama?"...pointing to the skiers
Mama Cheri: "They're skiing Alton, those are skis"
Alton: "I nee skis!"

He emphatically repeated his new found mantra of "I nee skis" for the remainder of our outing and was quite put out when we left the ski area without fulfilling this apparent need.

His first word at five am the next morning were an adamant and loud "I nee skis!"

A few hours later we were back at the resort to rent tiny skis (yes, they did actually have his size). He was elated and did great! His only frustration was that we would not let him ski down a small jump that the five-six year old boys were skiing down. That denial drew a full on screaming, kicking two-year old toddler fit!

Exiting the driveway in Chelan as we left to come home to Seattle, he made the sudden realization that we did not have his skis and cried for a good 10 minutes. This will certainly not be our last ski adventure with Baby Briar!
All suited up and ready to go!

Just like this

I do it!
