Birthday Boy Turns Three

Jacob, Lucy, Emma Mae and Jaden came over August 15 to celebrate Alton's 3rd Birthday in the back yard. Here they all are working together to try to follow the yellow string to Alton's present. Is it just me or are they all pointed different directions? Thank goodness for the 'big sister' who understood the game!

When it came to crossing the pasture, and the poop therein, the participants dwindled significantly!

He was amazed that it actually worked when he pushed the petal. This was the end of Emma Mae's '8-second ride' as she wanted nothing to do with the tractor unless she could drive herself!

'Big sister', Lucy came in handy again for initial driving lessons. She coached him thru stopping prior to obstacles, backing up to turn around and turning hard when necessary. It was an eery preview of 14-years from now when he is confidently hitting the road with a lovely young lady at his side.

Alton had one birthday request, "Lots of Cake!" He clamored for his tractor cake all day but, once it came time to eat it, he could only stop long enough to sing and blow out candles before he was back on the road.

Once night fell and his guests went home his wishes came true and he did in fact eat "Lots of Cake!"

He spent a good 30-minutes chasing and being chased by these balloons up and down our hill. It was quite a sight and a joy to listen to his peels of joy.
